OUTRAGED

Living my life to me is easy compared to what other people have to endure on a daily basis. I can’t imagine having to stay locked in my house because of a fear of my own government. The officers who are supposed to protect me, would beat me and steal from me.

How can we, as Americans, sit back and casually watch other countries implode? Why do we always help the ones who don’t really want to be helped. There are times when we should step back and look at what we are doing. We are trying to help Iraq. I understand that they are humans too. I have a cousin that was serving over there. His hummer was blown up by a miliacea. He has brain damage now. They aren’t sure what will happen with him.

Why are we helping a country that doesn’t want the help? They are acting out against the US. While in Venezuela, they are acting out against their wanna be dictator. They gave this man power, he gave himself more, and they don’t appreciate what he is doing to them. Why are we telling the Venezuelan people that they can’t come here for safety? Why are the requirements so strict for them? If I were in that same situation, I’d want a safe place to be. To know that I can be accepted and not ridiculed for my beliefs and have the freedom that I deserve.

Where have our priorities gone? Why are we helping people who don’t want the help instead of helping another fight against what they KNOW to be wrong. We are sitting here in comfort while other people have to fight against their own government, protect themselves from their own police who are being ordered by a dictator. We are watching this once peaceful country turn into chaos because we are more worried about the oil in Iraq rather than the plight of a country to be free from dictatorship.

We have the power, as Americans, to prevent another dictator from slowly killing his country. His dictatorship is just beginning, he’s not in full power yet. We should help those people and fight with them. Fight to keep their freedom rather than watch as they are over taken by this “man”.

America fought for their freedom with no help. Now we are in a position to help other countries do the same thing yet we try and fix what doesn’t want to be fixed rather than lend a hand where it’s actually wanted. This is outrageous to me. I can’t understand why we aren’t doing more!

American’s Be Heard!

There are some things, me being an America, that I can’t fathom happening. The police are supposed to serve and protect. In some of the smaller, third world, countries though, that isn’t the case. My fiancé’ is in Caracas where all of the riots are happening against Chaves. Lastnight he was caught in a riot and because the policeman thought he was part of it they hassled him. Four officers grabbed him and shoved him in the car. They pointed guns at his head and made him strip to see his belongings. He was beaten and had his cell phone and his money stolen from him. Because he didn’t have enough cash on him the officers took him to an ATM for him to withdraw more.

Me as an American, can’t see how this can happen. How America can sit and not issue visa’s to those in need is beyond me. Because my fiancé’ is in Venezuela we have been fighting immigration, trying to get him here, where it’s safe. He first applied for a tourist visa and was denied simply because he “didn’t have enough ties to his own country”. Now we looked into getting him a fiance’ visa and that is going to take a year at bare minimum. Why is it that American’s don’t need visa’s to go places but other countries need them to come here. Why are all people judged on one person’s actions? Why can’t we make it easier for married couples (American/ foreign marriages) to be together.

I was told that if my fiancé’ and I were to marry it would slow the whole visa process down a LOT. What’s with that? I mean, we’re married why is it that I can’t just bring him on the plane with me when I fly home. That makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever.

I work in a law firm. These attorney’s take case law and bend the laws to suit a particular case. It’s common practice for that to happen. Why can’t there be some way to get the man that I’m in love with, who is in an unsafe country, here where he can be with me and be safe? I just don’t get the judicial system sometimes.

American’s who fall in love with a person from another country are basically screwed. America is the “Land of the Free”. That’s beginning to become a question to me. Why can’t I have my fiancé’ here? Why does it have to be so complicated to be with the people that you love. Why can’t American’s see that not ALL people are bad. Not ALL countries are out to get us. Chaves is trying to be a dictator. The Venezuelan people are trying to revolt that. Why can’t we support them in their plight. We were once in a similar situation. Why can’t our government step up and not have another Castro or Sadam in our midst.

We should help human kind. We have our soldiers in Iraq. Those people just blow us up and say that we are trying to destroy them. Why try and help a country that doesn’t want to be helped when we can help a country that actually wants the help!!!
